CHH CoNeX launches new recruitment drive following strong growth
CHH CoNeX is looking to create more highly skilled jobs after joining a select number of UK companies to be recognised with a prestigious business – and manufacturing excellence award and developing a number of opportunities in new markets.
The company, which has been recognised with the 21st Century Supply Chains (SC21) Silver award for its exceptional levels of improvement, says the new roles will help drive growth at the company over the coming months.
Tim Hughes, Managing Director at CHH CoNeX explains: “Over the past 16 months we’ve really honed in to our competitive advantage and how we best achieve our mission to be a true extension of our customers’ business; thereby providing innovative design, manufacturing, logistics and other related services in order to create value and minimise waste.
“We have made a number of new appointments to our executive team which we now intend to strengthen further with the appointment of a New Product Introduction Engineer and Quality Engineer.”
CHH CoNeX has also utilised the SC21 improvement framework, originally introduced to accelerate the competitiveness of the aerospace and defence industry by raising the performance of its supply chain, to underpin its business strategy formation and deployment as it diversifies into new markets including rail, aerospace and defence, medical, security, energy and industrial.
This follows the announcement of an ambitious growth strategy in 2010.
Mr Hughes added: “SC21 is now a way of life and drives us to continuously improve what we do, reinforces our culture of innovation and excellence and we are delighted to achieve the Silver award recognition level the first time round and after just 14 months after CHH CoNeX first became a signatory of the programme.”
Tom Townsend, at TPT Consultancy and Training, who has been supporting CHH CoNeX through to this stage said: “This exceptional focus on on-time delivery and quality and the speed with which CHH CoNeX has achieved the Silver award is inspirational and a true testament to how this type of change and continuous improvement programme can add enormous value to all industries, not just to the defence and aerospace industries. CHH CoNeX is now one of the benchmark UK manufacturing companies in terms of level of excellence in business.”
Shaun Ashmead, Operations Director at CHH CoNeX added: ““At CHH CoNeX, our strategy is to be customer-focused, making it essential that our culture is one of involvement, participation and empowerment.
“Similarly, our leadership style needs to be one of coaching to generate engagement, and one that could continuously explain our strategy and the journey we are on. This end-to-end strategy and engagement process helps not only companies looking to work with the aerospace and defence industries up their game, but could be utilised to really give UK industry a competitive advantage.”
CHH CoNeX currently employs around 140 people at its 85,000 square feet Witton plant and plans to increase its turnover to £21million by 2013 and £50 million by 2015.
